Terms of Use
Last updated: June 2026. These Terms of Use govern access to and use of socialjusticecollaborative.org and related content operated by Social Justice Collaborative (“SJC,” “we,” “us”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Acceptance
Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms, except where law requires a different process. You are responsible for reviewing this page periodically.
No legal advice through the website
General information only
Site content (text, graphics, forms, and downloadable materials) is provided solely for general informational and educational purposes. It is not a substitute for personalized legal advice from a licensed attorney regarding your specific situation.
No attorney-client relationship from site use
Browsing the site, submitting a form, or receiving an automated or initial response does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship with SJC. Legal representation begins only when SJC and you formally agree to representation under our policies and applicable law. Please also see our No Legal Advice disclaimer.
Intellectual property
Text, design, logos, images, and other site content are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Unless we state otherwise, you are not granted a license to reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our materials without prior written permission, except as allowed by law (such as personal, transient copying while browsing).
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SJC and its directors, employees, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the site or its content, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
The site and materials are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that the site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability will be limited to the extent permitted by law.
Third-party links
The site may include links to external resources. Those links are provided for convenience. SJC does not control and does not necessarily endorse the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party sites. Your use of linked sites is at your own risk.
Governing law
Except where federal United States law governs a specific matter, these terms will be governed by and construed under the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would require applying another jurisdiction’s law. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of courts located in Alameda County, California, for disputes that cannot otherwise be resolved, subject to mandatory forums that law may provide for nonprofit organizations.
Changes to these terms
We may modify these Terms of Use at any time. The “last updated” date at the top indicates when they were last revised. Use of the site after material changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
