What services does SJC provide?
SJC provides free and low-cost immigration legal services including deportation defense, asylum assistance, representation for unaccompanied minors, pro bono legal clinics, appellate litigation, and behavioral health support for immigrant communities.
Who is eligible for SJC's services?
SJC primarily serves low-income immigrant communities in Northern California. Eligibility is determined through our intake process. If you're unsure, please fill out our intake form or call us -we'll help determine if we can assist you.
How much do your services cost?
Most of our services are provided free of charge. Some services may have minimal fees based on ability to pay. We never turn away clients who cannot afford to pay.
What languages do you support?
We provide services in many languages. Our staff speaks English, Spanish, and Indigenous languages including Mam and Q'anjob'al, and we work with certified interpreters for others.
How do I submit an intake form?
Visit our Get Help page and fill out the online intake form. It takes about 5 minutes. Our team will review your submission within 1–3 business days. For urgent matters, call us at (510) 992-3964.
Does submitting an intake form create an attorney-client relationship?
No. Submitting an intake form does not create an attorney-client relationship. It helps our team understand your situation and determine how we may be able to help. An attorney-client relationship is only formed after a formal engagement agreement.
